Race Training
Team Snowtrax

Our race training season normally starts in November with foundation training. This is designed to try and improve any basic errors in our members, as many high level errors can be traced back to the basic levels. Foundation training continues throughout the Christmas period until January when we start to introduce slalom poles. The Pole sessions continue along with general training throughout the early part of the year. As our race season approaches (April or May) we then gear up to “full on” racing with timed runs and dual slalom practice.

During the competition period, April to September, it’s as many pole sessions as possible in order to try and improve technique. We normally have August as a rest period due to holidays, however if the weather is good the hose comes out! The kids have great fun trying to get the coaches as wet as possible and bonding with the group. Racing starts again in September as the last few races approach. The season finishes after the final race. October is our alternative month when Darren our head coach and Freestyle coach runs sessions on all sorts of Freestyle activities.
