Hello, welcome to Snowtrax Ski Racers of Christchurch Dorset.

Well done to all at Christchurch race, weather was pretty horrendous but thanks to the organisation of parents the day ran smoothly.

Special well done to the following who all got medals Lily Dutson, Callum Ross, Charlie Tubbs, Bailey Oakes, Byron Appleton, Nicole Shearing, Alex Marks-King, Keiran Eagle, Ryan Long, Oscar Cluett, Del , Freddie Otton, Lewis Cluett, Jennifer Carpenter, Janet McKrill, Helen Moore, Dave Ross, Dan McKrill and a special well done to Dave Carpenter.

So with a total of 21 medals for Team Snowtrax plus U11 win U16 2nd and Open Championship win, this was undoubtedly the best result ever had at the centre and that goes for all previous clubs and teams, the best before was 19 medals. So a fantastic well done.

Highlights:

All racers did very well and all the coaches are so proud of how all racers skied and conducted themselves on the day.

A few special mentions have to be made though.

Del, who has trained very hard this season and has had a few thrills and spills on the way but at this race it all clicked and he skied very well and was rewarded dually with a place in the A team, skiing the anchor league and almost winning the senior team event.

Dave Ross, 1st in the 31-49 category, beating 2 of his coaches along the way and securing himself a place in the senior A team, well done.

Janet McKrill, 1st in her age. Janet has competed for ages and has always been in the medals in her age. Over the last 2 years she has not picked up gold though (I blame her husband). Today that was all forgotten and she skied into 1st place and took the gold medal.

Alex Marks-King, 2nd in his age but what a stand out performance in the under 16 team event. He had a tumble in the under 11 event, picked himself up and did the club proud in the under 16 team event.

Nicole Shering, 1st in her age, what a difference in her skiing this year, she has come on very well and all the training is working very well for Nicole. She also cemented her place in the under 11 A team breaking up the male domination, well done Nicole.

Byron Appleton, 1st in his age and almost in the under 11 A team. Well done Byron, awesome skiing, keep it up.

Charlie Tubbs, Callum Ross, Owen Oakes, 1st, 2nd & 3rd in the under 7’s category. Awesome result, well done to all 3 racers who seemed to have so much energy, that and all the extra practise on the slope to the Aldershot course. Well done boys.

New Comers
We had a few first time racers. These ranged from parents fed up with watching to new members who experienced their first race in the summer series.
