Darren Schmidt: Head Coach

Darren is a ex army champion(snow) as well as winning his age group numerous times in the past 10 years of artificial racing within the SRSA. He now Chairman of the SRSA, a qualified Artificial Slope Performance coach as well as a New School Part 1 Coach.

David Carpenter

David has been skiing since 1986 and teaching since 1997 He has coached the race club for 9 years and holds dry slope and BASI snow qualifications. He also teaches general lessons at Snowtrax and is involved in the training of new instructors at the centre.

Janet Mckrill

Janet has been a coach at Snowtrax for the past 8 years and is also the Southern region coach for the Tri Region races. She also competes on the SRSA and ESC race circuit and has won lots of trophies in her years skiing. Janet is also one of the most qualified race coaches at the centre.

Roy Cowell

Roy was a founder member of the race club and is an ASSI ski Instructor and a ASBI snowboard instructor. He has been teaching at the slope for about 17 years, including race club and general public.

Helen Schmidt

Helen has been skiing & teaching @ Snowtrax & racing on the Southern Circuit for nine years. She has won many trophies for racing - along with being in the A team!! Also became 2007 British Women's freestyle Champion in Switzerland in two disciplines. Helen has been Treasurer for the Southern Region for many years. She currently holds Club Instructor, ASSI, New School Part 1 Freestyle Coach & is currently taking ASPC level 2 qualification and looking to take her Snowboarding Instructor qualification next.

Freddie Otton
I have been skiing for 10 years, I started in kids club and then progressed into the race club. I work at the ski centre part time as a ski instructor, teaching in kids club and general ski lessons. I did my instructor qualification as a level 1 club instructor 2 years ago with Snowtrax and have now gone on to do the level 2 Performance coach course, to which I am now gaining my coaching hours to complete. I also take part in the SRSA races during the summer and occasionally do ESC races. I have won many medals and trophies. I am currently studying at college where I am learning Health and Social Care.

George Schmidt

I started skiing at the age of 3 with my 2 sisters at Snowtrax. In the Southern Region Summer league I raced slalom and won my age group on many occasions. I have diversified in Snowsports and taken up snowboarding and freestyle. For 8 years I have been sponsored by Salomon GB in both freestyle and racing.
In 2010 I completed my L1 SSE Instructor and New School Freestyle Coach and was also successful in attaining both my BASI 1 & 2. I look forward to coaching the next generation of racers at Team Snowtrax. I work as an apprentice carpenter but look forward to doing my first season in the mountains.
