FREESTYLE COMPETITION
On Saturday 9th October, the freestyle training culminated in a competition
with prizes awarded in both the Novices and Pro categories. The Novices
was won by Annika Jackson, with Chris Organ second and Nicole Shering
third. In the Pro Category, Rory Ianson came first, Del Dominey-Foy second
and Oscar Cluett third. Well done to everybody, with the most spectacular
wipeout won, as usual, by Del!
Foundation Training will commence from Saturday 16th October in preparation
for the race season, when we all get back to basics! See you there.
New Rules
The only change this season and is new will be the team races, At the AGM it was pointed out that between the junior team and open team championship there was a gap of racers missing out. So we have spent the winter sorting out a new age group which will be 16 and under.

"There will be 3 team dual slalom events.· The 11 and under event which for 2010 will only include racers born in theyear 1998 or later. The teams will consist of 3 members.· The 16 and under event which for 2010 will only include racers born in theyear 1993 or later. The teams will consist of 4 members.· The open event where members can be any age. The teams will consistof 4 members.Provided the age rules are met, a racer can take part in all of the different events. Team selection policy is the responsibility of the club team manager."
PARENTS SKI EVENINGS
Dan and Dave will be recommencing the Thursday evening sessions from 30th April for parents looking to improve their ski technique. The sessions will run from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, costing £8.75 for race club/centre members and £13 for non-members.
New helmet law in the Alps after spate of deaths
A new law requiring all children under 14 to wear helmets on the slopes has been rushed into resorts in Austria following the death of a mother in a high-speed collision on the piste. Beata Christandl died of head injuries after a collision with a German politician, Dieter Althaus, at a combined speed of 60mph.
